Many thanks to author and blogger Sally Cronin for another guest appearance. I’ve already shared blog posts, as well as book promotions and excerpts, with Sally, and now I’ve had a chance to share the poet side of me.
If you’re a poet looking to promote your poetry, or an author looking for opportunities to promote your book(s), I highly recommend you get in touch with Sally.
Alle C. Hall is the author of a highly acclaimed novel, and I once had the pleasure of working alongside her in the online magazine JMWW‘s nonfiction editorial staff.
She answers questions asked to her related to writing, publishing, and marketing on her blog, and I recently had one for her that had been on my mind. Here are her answers:
I’d already had paperback links on my website’s pages, but I’ve updated Goodreads to have Kindle editions as the main ones, and I’ve also learned that unless you are the first author listed in an anthology, you can’t set the main edition in Goodreads.
If you have a question of your own, consider reaching out to Alle for an answer.
Many thanks to author Jan Sikes for this opportunity to promote my fantasy books as well as discussing knowing when to stop (and no, I don’t mean writing).
Here’s my reading at this month’s open mic at the Annapolis chapter of the Maryland Writers’ Association. The poems are four of six featured in the new anthology Honesty in Verse. YouTube made it a short for some reason instead of a traditional video, but at least it’s up.
And many thanks to Sally Cronin for featuring Beneath the Deep Wave in her Christmas book fair:
Happy Holidays, everyone! If you’ve read something of mine and haven’t rated or reviewed it yet, please do. It would definitely make the season brighter for me.
On a side note, I had a wonderful time at the Maryland Writers’ Conference this past weekend. I learned a lot about public appearances and signings, which I hope to put to good use in the future, and I sold six books!
A lot has been happening over the last few months. First off, this week I gave a presentation on word and page count for the Maryland Writers’ Association Frederick County chapter. I meant to record it for my YouTube channel. Sadly, I did not. Oh well. Maybe I’ll do that next time I give it.
For those of you who’ve followed me for a while, you may remember me discussing this topic before. For those of you who haven’t, here’s that post:
A new poetry anthology is available featuring six of my poems, courtesy of poets Robbie Cheadle and Kaye Lynne Booth, who not only featured me but also allowed me to discuss my experiences with poetry as part of their Treasuring Poetry blog series a year ago. Many thanks to them, and also to Merril D. Smith for featuring a video of me reading one of my poems, which I’d written in college, as part of the anthology’s blog tour.
